We dress athletes, Olympians and Czech fans
In London 2012, the world was intrigued by the Czech team’s wellington boots, a joking reference to the often rainy British weather. For the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, the Raška cap, which commemorated ski jumper Jiří Raška, Czechoslovakia’s first gold medal winner at the Winter Olympics, became a hit at home. Through the cap, fans also donated money to sports for children through the Czech Olympic Foundation; this has now become a tradition for Olympic merchandise.
The winter games in Sochi 2014 and Korea 2018 were connected by the golden lining of jackets worn on the podium. Rio 2016 entertained with its colours, and Vancouver 2010 with its psychedelic circles. In addition, every Olympic collection created in cooperation with the Czech company ALPINE PRO has its own specific motif. Sometimes it is based on art – as in the case of František Kupka’s Bicolour Fugue or Alphonse Mucha’s linden tree leaves. On other occasions, the motifs are taken from sport, like with the Emil Zátopek figures for Rio 2016, or the gymnastic motif for the Games in Tokyo.
Athletes’ attire always has one top feature that reflects the venue of the Games – the clothing for Tokyo is light, breathable and absorbent for hot and humid environments. At the same time, the collection has to include, for example, hoodies for air-conditioned venues. The Olympic collections, however, always interconnect athletes and fans with their motifs and cuts.
However, we don’t just equip athletes for the Olympic Games; we have also provided clothing for the Czech delegations to the European Youth Olympic Festivals, the Youth Olympic Games, the European and World Games and the World Beach Games.
However, you can always buy items from the collection at the Olympic Festivals, where ALPINE PRO also provides collections for the organizing team and volunteers. At the T-Mobile Olympic Run the T-shirts are worn by the runners, and at the national finals of the Sazka Olympic School Sport Program by the participating children.
